9th Lesson

Focused on the issues regarding future and emerging technologies this lesson. A very informative and thought provoking lesson, I must say.

What I find interesting today was the vast majority of emerging technologies today, some even beyond that of our imagination and belief. While some were pretty well-known technologies such as nanotechnolgy, others were equally intriguing, such as the potential "cure" for AIDS. In my honest opinion, the most interesting discussions that occurred in this lesson was actually during the Individual Presentations, where many of the technologies raised were really eye-catching and shocking. Some were remarkable medical innovations, such as the potential cure for AIDS. Others were amazing and, in some ways, sounds truly fun to use, such as a technology that allows humans to control actions on their computers using only their brain waves. Nothing short of remarkable.

One key takeaway we should learn from this lesson would be to be willing to test the limits of our innovation, imagination and scientific capabilities. The myriad of technologies introduced in this lesson were only made possible or seemingly attainable through the ingenuity of certain groups of people, not to mention those who were gutsy and "rebellious" enough to go against societal norms. Only through imagining the impossible can we achieve the seemingly impossible; is this not how Albert Einstein, Issac Newton, Thomas Edison and many extraordinary scientists discovered and formulated their groundbreaking theories and inventions? The will and courage to go against the norm should be cultivated into us to help us better think outside of the box, thus being able to achieve such amazing feats in the field of technology.

Overall, I would rate this lesson a 9/10. A very interesting and thought provoking session.
