11th Lesson

This lesson was highlighted by the fact that we were the ones actually teaching the class about technology and the changes it brings about, instead of Professor Singh doing so. My group, named Techmerce, was one of the 4 groups that presented today.

Our group chose the topic of e-commerce due largely to the fact that many of us often shop online for what we want. While Singapore is often referred to as the shopping haven of Southeast Asia, not everything is always available. Not only that, certain goods that have been imported into Singapore could in fact cost more than its original price, inclusive of shopping.

It is largely due to this that e-commerce has become so popular in recent times, with people increasingly opting to shop online than shop in local stores. Upon further evaluation and discussions, we felt that the topic of e-commerce is in fact an extremely interesting one, particularly with the fact that it is a recent innovation and has so much room for improvement.

I would feel that the main highlight of this project would be our future considerations in the development of e-commerce. While the the innovations that we have thought out and the videos we made were a fun process, there is also much we can learn from it. Some of our ideas may seem far-fetched to some, but I believe there will come a time where the ingenuity of humans would make these suggestions a reality. e-commerce is an example of such ingenuity. Who would have thought, even when the Internet had just been discovered, that we would have the capability to purchase goods through online stores, or purchase goods in countries that we are not in. This is certainly a food for thought.

Of course, when doing work, nothing is smooth sailing, and this applies to our project as well. Our group has met with difficulties such as an overload of information, which makes it rather hard to disseminate relevant information from non-relevant ones. Making the videos were rather tough too, as we had to think of appropriate content to facilitate understanding of our project. However, I feel that we as a group has managed to handle these difficulties rather efficiently, and I can safely say that we have done a pretty decent job.

Of course, the other groups have done commendable efforts in the making of their website as well. Many of their websites were attractive, and the information they posted also made it easy for us to know more about their topics. Overall, I felt that all the groups that presented this lesson did a great job.

I would rate this lesson a 9/10. Exciting and fun to know what the other groups have thought about for their project. :)
